Description

Lineage II: Goddess of Destruction is a windows based massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by NCsoft. Lineage II was launched in October 2003 and is the second game in the Lineage series. The game is popular in Asia especially in South Korea where it recorded groundbreaking 1,000,918 unique users during March 2007.

Features

Lineage II is a free-to-play online game as from November 2011. Players are expected to create avatar characters and are free to choose either mystic or fighter professions. The theme of the game is that players accumulate experience points by killing non-player character monsters. Players create accounts and login to play with other community members. Lineage II: Goddess of Destruction has been developed as one of the premium high quality 3D ‘grind-style’ RPG games. The setting happens in a virtual world where all races start at Talking Island. There are approximately 32 races and each race has its own unique set of classes.
Experience and Skill points accumulate as the character’s level increases. Players are free to make purchases and upgrade their skills using Skill points. The two fictional plots named “chaotic chronicle and chaotic throne” sagas are updated after every six months to introduce fresh elements as well as new add-ons.

Comparison

What sets Lineage II: Goddess of Destruction apart from the competition is the high number of classes for races that a player can choose. Upon completing one class, the player can add a subclass to his/her character. Completing the three-subclass choices given, a player can add one dual class. It therefore takes longer time for a player to complete the game as there are different horizons to exploit in the chosen “Saga”.
Player versus Player (PVP) is another noteworthy feature the game offers. Lineage II provides many real-life scenarios of political, economic and social aspects that are part of the community. Karma is another vital feature added to the game that limits players from killing aimlessly.

Conclusion

Lineage II: Goddess of Destruction presents a platform in which players can learn the tactics of large-scale war, manage conflicts and collaborations that bring both the aspects of hate and friendship. With Lineage II, it is hard to acknowledge the difference between a bad day and a good one since they are so close.
The awesome 3D graphic of Lineage II is so intense that game keeps players engaged and immersed on the platform. The only shortfall presented by the game is lack of WASD support which most contemporary clone games feature.
