Description
Managing many files requires some order and the WinZip user graphical interface is exactly what you need for this kind of actions. The first version of WinZip was released in April 1991 and several versions have been released as the developers strive to conform to changing trends in the sector. The developer of the WinZip graphical user interface was Nico Mak Computing; a renowned developer with a history in development of different computing applications.
Features
To give the user a fulfilling experience dealing with zip files, the application came with features to enhance the creation of zip files, extraction of zip files as well as to add files to zip folders for better management. It was also possible to write WinZip files directly on to a DVD or CD for storage or any other reasons. You can also email zip files using this interface.
Comparison
Competition in the computing sector is inevitable and WinZIP also faces some competition from other developers. Some common alternatives include The Unarchiver, Universal Extractor and HaoZip just to name a few. The main difference between WinZip and these alternatives is that the alternatives are free open source applications.
Conclusion
Considering the success of Corel, it is worth noting that this application seems to gain more popularity as compared to most of the open sourced alternatives. The best thing however with the application is that the developers keep improving it to conform to changing trends.
