TeamTalk is a conferencing system application that offers its users the ability to communicate seamlessly by sharing information via messaging, chat and video all on a single platform. Much like any other conferencing system, a group of individuals can involve themselves in a discussion or any other conversation. TeamTalk is an intuitive conferencing system that provides great help to groups of people that are searching for a centralized platform were they can exchange messages, media files and share information all in one place.
Teamtalk is quite a rich-featured conferencing tool and cannot be compared with most popular Instant Messaging (IM) networks available today. One unique feature is its lightness, coupled with an easy to use all-inclusive interface. Teamtalk also offers each group of users a certain degree of privacy by providing ‘private rooms’ very popular with individuals looking to share information confidentially. This is implemented by connecting to TeamTalk’s stand-alone servers available for both private and public networks.
Another plus for TeamTalk is its appealing user interface, with all features nicely placed within it. The left of the window is packed with the server connection indicator and created channels while the right packs all features related to messaging such as live chat, video and other files. Moreover, since TeamTalk allows users to connect with each other at once, with such an interface, switching to the video tab to see other connected friends is a flawless process.
The conversations get even better with the high quality audio and video enhancements provided in both mono and stereo. Another major feature packed with this application making it exceptionally awesome, giving users the capability to share real applications right inside the desktop tab. Ideally, an entire desktop can be shared including your currently active desktop window. This unique feature of desktop sharing enables users to choose an interval of choice on when to update and they can decide on whether to share their desktop marker or not. With this feature, a user can remotely do a presentation involving an application and explain its functions.
TeamTalk interface is exceptional, very accessible and includes add-ons and scripts for almost all popular screen readers. This is quite remarkable compared to what its competitors offer. TeamTalk faces quite some competition from other providers such as GTalk, Zoho chat and the Mundu messenger app from Geodesic. Notwithstanding, TeamTalk desktop sharing is a first, beating all others to their game. Since TeamTalk runs on all major versions of Windows, accessibility is much easy. The fact that TalkTeam doesn’t feature a phone app unlike its peer Teamspeak that features phone apps on iOS and Android is a draw back for users on the go.
TeamTalk is generally a good IM and group conferencing client. Its user interface and desktop sharing features clearly standing out. However, with the advent of smartphones that try to serve as the replacements for computers, mobile IM apps is the way to go. TeamTalk would serve its users quite right with a phone app that also includes all its other current features.
