The Sea Monkey is a latest addition to the various software’s available. It is an extension of the Mozilla internet suite. The software is based on a community driven agenda. The Sea monkey council is leading the entire project at present. What is interesting to note in this software is its name –Sea Monkey. Sea monkey has been previously used by the Mozilla only. However, in order to find a better and a decent name to the word ‘butt monkey’, ‘Sea Monkey’ was used with a capital ‘m’ . Though, due to copyright issues and distribution issues it is being currently distributed under the name ‘ice cap’.
The sea Monkey has a lot of the remarkable feature that makes it a very successful internet suite. It consists of two main features. First is the mailing which includes a contact book, multiple mailing feature, spam and junk mail deletion and high storage capacity. Second, it includes composing mails with an editor, with insertion of hyperlinks, images, texts, videos etc. The official releases of this software are for the Windows, Linux etc. Operating systems and it also has few unofficial releases for Solaris, IRIX, etc.
Sea Monkey when compared with an other internet suite can be correctly called as the latest in the series, which has been brought out by the Mozilla productions. It has a load of better features and functions than its predecessors brought out by the same company. What needs to be kept in mind is that it is available for distribution among a variety of operating systems- officially or unofficially. Such variety competency is very hard to find in other internet suites in contemporary times. Moreover, other revised versions of the product are also in the line for being released.
With the success of the Sea Monkey internet suite, till date two versions have already been launched in the market. One in September 2005 and the other in January 2006. Currently, work is being done on the third version which is anticipated to come out very soon. One can overall put it that the software has been in use by thousands of people and has helped them with their work like any other software. Its demand is already proven by the release of two versions and the third on its pre releasing stage.
The developers of the Sea Monkey team are a group of skilled professionals who are extremely competent and deserve to be in the Sea monkey council. Though, the work is internally distributed among the team members regarding the developing and distribution management of the product, the entire team is responsible together for every little success and failure of the product. The Sea Monkey council Team currently consists of the following members Philip Chee, Justin Wood, Karsten Düsterloh, Neil Rashbrook Jens Hatlak, Andrew Schultz Robert Kaiser and Ian Neal. Without the hard work of these eminent and proficient developers this product would not have reached its peak of success.
