Maintaining a diary is a habit for many people. With time, such diary entries on a daily basis gets mingled and disorganized. Print facility includes many print templates to choose from and report editing before printing. (Existing templates can be edited as well). Diary entries can be exported as either in RTF, HTML, TXT or DDB formats. External files can be linked with diary entries as well with full attachment support.
Additionally, the database can be shared with other users over a network and changes are updated in real-time. The software also features backup/restore operations to prevent from data loss apart from full DropBox support for remote access. The software is portable and does not require installation per se. It is available for Windows 9x, 2000, XP, Vista, 7 and 8 (for both 32- and 64-bit versions) and in languages such as English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, etc.
A built-in alternative to users of Microsoft Office and latest Windows 8 would be OneNote – a note taking application that has rich text and attachment facilities and sync across multiple devices via Microsoft account. However, it does not have built-in database support or exporting to various format supports. Also it uses OneDrive service as opposed to DropBox. RedNotebook is a free and open-source diary application with rich graphical contents and offers identical facility save for database sharing over network and DropBox integration. Smart Diary Suite can be another alternative but is geared as task-list application rather than diary archiving.
